Hospital-acquired infections kill more people than car accidents every year. Environmental factors are becoming ever more important. The Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, RoHS 2002/95/EC, was adopted in 2003 by the European Union. Since July 2014, also manufacturers of medical device are required to comply with the directive. Merivaara’s CE-marked products comply with RoHS.
