Since July 2014, also manufacturers of medical device are required to comply with the directive. Merivaara’s CE-marked products comply with RoHS.

The totally renovated Krasnaya Polyana Municipal Hospital no 8 in Sochi, Russia, chose Finnish company Merivaara to supply most of its new furnishing equipment. The hospital originates from a small infirmary, established more than 100 years ago, and over time it has turned into a medical centre with several medical branches, including therapy, surgery, and neurology. Today, the spectrum of care and equipment of the health facility is at such a high level that it will serve the participants and guests of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.
